Are there any quality or condition requirements for donated vehicles?
We will take any vehicle located within 60 miles of our two locations, that has wheels and is mobile.
I'd like to donate my vehicle, but I need it picked up immediately!
If your vehicle is drivable, you can drop it off at the New Life For Youth Men’s Ranch or Celebration Park address, along with your title of ownership, between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, Monday through Saturday. If you are unable to drop off during the regular business hours, please contact us at (804) 448-2750 to get the details for the "unassisted drop off process."
Within 8 to 12 weeks of our receiving the signed title of ownership for the donated vehicle, a charitable tax receipt will be issued to the registered owner of the vehicle. The receipt amount is based on the fair market value of the vehicle as at the date of the donation.
Is the donor charged any fees for processing the donated vehicle?
No. New Life For Youth takes care of all the paperwork, processing, and pickup fees.
I'd like to donate my vehicle, but I have lost the ownership.
In order to donate your vehicle to New Life For Youth, you will need to provide us with a current ownership for the vehicle. If you have lost your ownership, you can obtain one from your local Department of Transportation office.
When may I remove the insurance?
We recommend that you remove the insurance the day after we pick up your vehicle.
May I bring the donated vehicle to New Life For Youth myself?
Yes. If you would like to drop the vehicle off directly to New Life For Youth, you are welcome to do so. Please note our drop-off hours are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Saturday. What does New Life For Youth do with the donated vehicles?
New Life For Youth evaluates all donated vehicles. Our staff assesses, detail, and sometimes do minor mechanical repair work on the vehicles. The vehicles are then sold at public auctions, or sold to recyclers. The proceeds from all sales are used to support the New Life For Youth’s centers, facilities, and overall program.
